First off, I hope you’ll forgive me for my little break! I feel like I’m blaming more and more on this over the past few weeks, but I injured my right arm and working it too hard gets awfully painful after too long. It’s on the mend, but it still hurts. Hopefully, I’ll be back on my 1-2 posts a week schedule before long – thanks for sticking with me!
We’re back with this week’s #SecondLifeChallenge from Strawberry Singh, and it’s on an exciting, heartbreaking, breathtaking, uplifting, blissfully happy topic that also weighs in as soul-crushing and the number one seller of ice cream pints in the world – Love and Dating.
Let’s go to the questions!
Do you date in Second Life?
Absolutely – I love it! I love going out with someone interesting, whether it be sharing an SL interest like sailing or surfing or visiting art galleries, going dancing, checking out a musical performance, or even just exploring a pretty sim. There’s such a wonderful, exciting energy to dating; it’s full of potential and electricity and it’s never boring.
Share some locations in Second Life that you think are ideal to go to on a date.
I’ll share two. The first is Frank’s. Nota bene: Frank’s is a private club and the cost to join isn’t cheap. When I first joined it was 500L, it’s now up at 1,000L. Is that a lot? Absolutely. Is it worth it? If you ask me, yes. The sim is beautiful, the music and DJ’s are top notch, it’s the perfect spot for two people looking to spend some time together to get dressed to the nines and go dance, sit and talk, people-watch, or just walk about this really lovely sim.
Two is Virtual Ephemera. Ephemera is free, but that doesn’t make it any less special. There is SO much to do at Ephemera, and exploring it with a date is exciting and fun. There are plenty of places to stop and sit for a talk (or…something) and there are often DJs at the multiple party spots at the sim.
Share a story of one of your favorite dates/proposals you’ve experienced in Second Life, or something someone has done for you that meant a lot.
The woman I’d been seeing had found out I liked riding motorcycles and suggested a specific route for an outing. We put on some riding gear and went for a ride across a sim I’d never visited. It was lovely: grassy meadows and trees surrounding a narrow road. After 15 minutes or so she suggested pulling over to take a break. We went offroad to this small hill overlooking a small lake where she’d left a picnic blanket, basket, and a plushy unicorn. Even though she and I have parted ways, I still have the unicorn.
Have you ever fallen in love in Second Life?
I have. It’s very different because on an intellectual level I knew full well this ‘ended’ when I logged out of Second Life, but it didn’t stop it from creeping into my mind even when I was nowhere near the grid. Musing over something we’d done together or something we’d planned for the future. I knew this wasn’t an RL relationship of any kind – I didn’t want it to be. It didn’t stop it from being immensely powerful and terribly painful when I realized it was over.
Have you ever gotten partnered or married in Second Life?
Once. I still adore my partner, and we spend a lot of time together, but ultimately a formal partnership wasn’t a great choice for either one of us. I think I’ll keep the details to myself, but just say my partner and I are much better as very close friends than as partners.
I’ve gotta run – I have a date! I’m being taken to an art exhibit. Wish me luck!

My blogging muse, Strawberry Singh, posted a new #SecondLifeChallenge this week, and it goes a little something like this:
Here are the instructions for the #SecondLifeChallenge this week: Share what you do in Second Life (or in real life) to relax and reduce stress.
Mine involves my sailboat and throwing navigation out the window. I pick a direction and set sail. I never fail to find something interesting, be it someone’s home or boat or plane or island. I might just drop anchor a ways off, set the windlight to something pretty and lay down on the deck, trying to forget for a while about whatever has me chewing on my pencils.
I’m wearing a double from erratic! This is my favorite bikini and it comes in SOOOOO many cute textures. For my Maitreya body, it’s probably my go-to ‘kini. The denim shorts…I have oodles and oodles of denim shorts, no lie, but these are my “sailing shorts.” I think it’s the bandana tied about the belt loop; it adds a flavor that makes me feel like it should be worn doing something outdoorsy…like sailing!
I think most everyone has heard a little something about Luxe Box closing its doors, and I’ll talk about it in more detail in my next post. Until then, I’m just gonna chill and take in this…tropical island/winter wonderland.

Hi everyone! I hope you’ll forgive my little break in blogging. Between work and holidays and holiday recovery I’ve hard a hard time being able to put the time together for a proper post, but now I’ve got some nice tea and a house filled only by the jazz stream I listen to in my SL home – it’s blogging time! (Incidentally, I totally recommend that jazz stream, even if you’re not big into jazz. It’s just perfect music for just about any occasion.)
The close of Heavenly Peach had me looking for more ‘go-to’ hangouts. I’ll always have Cling, and I love that club and the great company there, but a body needs a list of places to swing by. It’s with this in mind I present The Trans-Dimension.
Trans, as folks (well, me, at least) often call it, is a beach/nightclub that caters primarily to the transgender crowd, but everyone is happily welcomed, regardless of sexual identity or preference. Over the last week, I’ve danced with straight guys, bisexual women, a hilarious trans girl, and a male elf with a backside at which I may have stared at a bit too long. I love how, by and large, SL is such an accepting place and that these groups all gather to meet and have fun in the same place. It gives me hope.
Anyway, Trans has a SUPER COOL dance floor that lights up when one walks or dances across it. The music is from all over the place, but mostly pop from the 80s, the 90s, early 21st century, and today – their DJs are all very engaging and a lot of fun, and I’m always greeted by just about everyone there when I port in; I love that feeling! I feel like if I’ve walked into a place and a group of people have taken a second or three to say, “Hi Keyli!”, then I’m in a good spot.
One of my favorite spots at Trans is actually off the dance floor. They have a little tropical pool complete with a diving board! I’m not quite sure why I like diving boards so much, but I think posing on them is fun, but I could jump off them for hours.
It’s probably not a bad idea to bring up that Trans is an A-rated (is that the terminology? no one seems to get it when I call something A-rated) establishment, meaning, in short, it’s sunny with a chance of nekkidness. That might not be your bag, which is totally okay. There is a club for everyone in SL! If Trans isn’t yours, I hope you find it. If it sounds like your kind of place, however, I hope you’ll come join Azkadellia, Abbie, and all the rest of the super cool people at Trans. And bring your swimsuit because that diving board is awesome!

I’m a fairly well-educated girl, but, I’ll confess, I didn’t really have a grasp on the definition of the word ephemera. Well, if there ever was a cause for an Internet search, this is it:
ephemera (noun): things that exist or are used or enjoyed for only a short time
Huh…because when I think about Virtual Ephemera and the hours of time I’ve spent enjoying myself there, it seems like a bit of a misnomer. All the same, Virtual Ephemera is gorgeous and has a little something for everyone. Today I visited ‘The Henge’ at VE, an area reminiscent of Stonehenge, with a lovely copse of trees (and tree swings!) for exploring.
Of course, this came after a little shopping trip to Uber and SaNaRae! I’m wearing a little sleeveless turtleneck from Fashionably Dead I found at Uber. I LOVE the texturing on it, and it’s just a super cute piece I could see myself wearing A LOT. Note to FD – fatpacks…please embrace them. I would’ve cheerfully bought the FP for this. This hair I tracked down at SaNaRae from [monso] called Yunkyung – an unusual name, but a gorgeous style. This is the first hair from [monso] I’ve added to my obscenely full hair vault, and it will not be the last.
Virtual Ephemera has a Mer area, a great beach for parties, a really beautiful and romantic villa, and about a dozen varied different areas making it ideal for exploration and photography. It’s an adult-rated sim, so go ahead and shoot those nudes or…do other activities that one might do in the nude!
(I meant swinging from a tree, of course.)

So there’s another one of these like right below this, so I hope you check it out too, but let’s go! Today’s(being Monday, December 18) #SecondLifeChallenge from my hero, Strawberry Singh, goes something like this:
Here are the instructions for the #SecondLifeChallenge this week: Share a picture or video of a winter scene in Second Life. Tell us a bit about the location and/or what you are wearing.
Like Cary Elwes (who looked SO hot in this movie) said, “As you wish.”
I’m at the Garden of Whimsy Winter Wonderland, which has everything a winter explorer could desire – ice skating, snow, sleighs, beautiful trees and some wonderfully colorful and festive light displays. I spent the evening exploring and had a fantastic time.
I’m wearing a turtleneck sweater from the Paper Arrow, which came in the December Luxe Box! If you remember, the November box was something of a disappointment for me, but December has REALLY made up for it. I’m working on another set of pictures wearing some of my favorites from December, look for that post soon!
So after all that exploration in the cold while wearing a really, really weather-inappropriate denim miniskirt, I returned home to find my close friend, Danni, under the Christmas tree for a romantic cuddle. I don’t know that I can think of a better way to wrap up an evening spent exploring the winter wonderlands of Second Life.
What I’m wearing:
Sweater: Cozy Turtleneck by Paper Arrow Co (December 2017 Luxe Box)
Skirt: Denim Skirt by Blueberry (January 2017 Luxe Box)
Boots: Autumn by REIGN
Hair: Irenka by Truth
My good friend Njeri said there was a new beach opening this weekend and she had the line on getting an early tour of the place. Always one to take advantage of my friends graciously accept an implied invitation, I popped over to Heavenly Peach and had a look around.
(this is my ‘Serve already…’ game face…)
Before we go any further, Heavenly Peach is a female avatars-only, clothing optional beach. It might not be your bag, it might be right up your alley. I often have a really good time hanging out at similar establishments, and after a look around the island, I think this is going to be a regular haunt for me. One thing that really struck me about it was the perfect amount of furnishings – some beaches really cram the chairs and towels and fire pits and dance floors and furniture in, making navigation a little bit challenging. The folks who set up Heavenly Peach must’ve heard my grumblings as I bumped into every couch and chair walking from point A to point B on some other beaches. There’s also plenty of room between hangout spots, so you aren’t constantly stepping on other conversations or walking into photos.
There are a few Asian-themed buildings for getting off the beach and chilling indoors, as well as an outdoor dance floor. It seems like the perfect place to get together with some friends, look out over the water and talk about the important matters of SL like…clothes. (You have your priorities, I have mine.) 😉
They also have VOLLEYBALL! I love volleyball! I can’t wait to get in some games of beach volleyball there.
(This is the requisite supermodel sexy beach pose shot. I’m fairly certain it’s a criminal offense not to shoot this shot when doing photos at a beach, and I don’t want to get into any trouble with the law.)
I’m wearing the Claire bikini from ViSion, which was a GROUP GIFT!!! It brings me no end of joy when a really great piece is a gift, and Claire is one of those. I’m a huge fan of ViSion and am absolutely beyond tickled that they’ll be contributing to the December Luxe Box (which comes out in two days!). If you aren’t a member of the ViSion group – you are so missing out, some of the group gifts are fantastic.
Heavenly Peach has a big grand opening event this weekend, Saturday, December 16 from 12-5pm SLT. Hope you’ll stop by – I could use always use a partner for volleyball.
